ISSUES

Your Voice, Our Town.

Smart, Balanced Growth

We need planned, controlled growth that looks ahead to Pittsboro’s future while preserving what makes Pittsboro, Pittsboro—build up, not out.

Build Real Partnerships with Developers

Create working relationships with developers who respect Pittsboro’s values. Early collaboration and clear expectations produce projects that fit our town and pay their way.

Infrastructure & Stormwater

Fix what we have before adding more, and set clear, enforceable standards so projects deliver modern roads, pipes, and stormwater systems that actually prevent flooding.

Traffic, Transit & Connectivity

Safer streets for pedestrians and cyclists, realistic traffic planning, and better connectivity across town—not just for cars, but for people.

Environment & Climate Action

Pittsboro is a bird sanctuary—protecting tree canopy, streams, and pollinators protects who we are. A practical Climate Action Plan will let us grow without sacrificing our environment.

Affordable Workforce Housing

Let’s make “Live and Work in Pittsboro” real—not a commuter town. More workforce options also attract the small and mid-size businesses that are the heart of any thriving place.

Historic Downtown, Vibrant Future

Invest in storefronts, walkability, and public spaces so downtown stays historic and vibrant—a destination and an experience, not a generic strip.

Small & Local Business First

Prioritize local, family-owned, and generational businesses over big-box sprawl. Support unique shops and independent entrepreneurs so downtown remains a true destination—not a cookie-cutter row of generic stores.

Public Safety

I support a community-centered police force —officers viewed as neighbors, not just enforcers. The police and the community are safer when they are appropriately staffed, connected, approachable, and trusted.

Health & Safety

Keep drinking water, air, and neighborhoods safe—and continue Mayor Kyle Shipp’s initiative to keep heavy trucks out of downtown with smart routing and enforcement.

Parks, Greenways & Recreation

Finish what’s started—like Lewis Freeman Park—and expand trails and greenways, empowering the Recreation Advisory Board to guide investments.

Fair Housing & Neighborhood Stability

Track corporate ownership and use practical tools that keep homes for families and workers, not just investment portfolios.

Fiscal Responsibility

Use independent impact reviews and straight math so long-term maintenance and public safety costs don’t land on current taxpayers.

Transparent, People-First Government

I work with people—residents, small businesses, civic groups, and regional partners—to solve problems together. Open records, clear timelines, and plain-language updates (yes, using social media and AI) keep everyone in the loop. It’s important to me that community engagement and feedback happen year-round, not just at election time. Pittsboro needs a voice, and I want to be that voice. I listen, I care, and I show up.
